Bushmills Dunes will be a links golf course in the classic manner of all the great links of Ireland and Scotland. The project is taking shape on the North Coast of Northern Ireland, hard by the North Atlantic. The course designed by Gil Hanse in collaboration with Mark Parsinen, will achieve international standing through its design and its spectacular setting. Together with an excellent array of legendary links nearby--Royal Portrush, Portstewart and Castlerock—Bushmills Dunes will solidify the North Coast’s allure as one of the world’s finest golf destinations. Our plans for a five-star hotel will bolster this allure and we expect that the world’s adventuresome golfers will quickly have Bushmills Dunes on their radar.
Bushmills Dunes' location and physical site allows for a golf course to be constructed which will compare favourably with top ranked links courses around the world, as well as complementing Royal County Down and Royal Portrush, both of which are ranked in the top 20 golf courses in the World, with there being a strong rumour that Royal Portrush will be the site of the Open Championship in 2019. Bushmills Dunes has some famous attractions near by, including the Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillery and Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge.
Founding Members will have all the benefits of Membership in this unique links course, with no need for tee times, no green fees for life and a plaque in the foyer of the golf course noting their role in making Bushmills Dunes a reality. There will also be other significant benefits to Membership which are detailed in the section on Founding Memberships.
"The course will be sensational. It will be wonderful for the area to have a five star resort there and the piece of land is stunning. It is just down the road from where I live. It’s brilliant news."
— Darren Clarke
"A unique links site characterized by grand dunes juxtaposed with a crashing whitewater sea. An opportunity for 'compression and release' from within the dunes to wide-open and stunning sea views."
— Mark Parsinen, developer of Kingsbarns and Castle Stuart links course in Scotland
"This will not only bring major economic benefits and much needed jobs to the north coast but it will also significantly boost our reputation as a golf destination in the Republic of Ireland, Great Britain and in Europe."
— Arlene Foster, MLA Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment
